TRIBUTE TO LEBANON
Time moves on…
Everything else stands still…
Lebanon, Life, and Luxury
Is swathed in evil
The brightly colored lights of a Lebanese night,
Are now replaced by darkness in shelters alight,
And the euphoric beat in fancy clubs aglow,
Is substituted with the heartbeat of a refugee in sorrow,
And the delicacy of bouchées in restaurants,
Are swapped with meager food portions for citizens,
And the sandcastles my cousin built by the beach
is now a pile of rubble on once-existing streets,
And the ticking of the clock as I wait to go out
is now the ticking of a bomb, a ruthless clout
But the dreams we built for Lebanon's sake
are still standing there, they're never at stake…
Time moves on…
Everything else stands still…
But we surprisingly always defy
As we survive against their will
Everything else stands still…
Lebanon, Life, and Luxury
